About the Artist

Capturing the Magic in Ordinary Moments

I can trace my love for art, and all of my career choices, to my discovery of the paintings in Encyclopedia Britannica at age 5. I was so enamored of the paintings I saw that I promptly executed crayon renderings, covered them with cellophane, and tried to sell them door to door. Since I met with a moderate amount of success, I went into advertising and eventually, residential interior design. When our fabulous daughters launched themselves into this brave new world, I decided to launch myself back into creating art. I was introduced to pastel paintings through Debbie Wardrope, an amazing pastel artist in Pleasanton. I began taking classes with Debbie and fell in love with the depth of color and richness that pastels provide. I like that you can hold the stick in your hand and get good and messy—just like the old days with my crayons. In addition to working in pastels, I like to wave a brush around and work with both acrylics and oils.

Whatever the medium, I love to capture the magic in ordinary moments and create art that evokes a feeling or a memory.

I work primarily through photos I have taken, as well as on commission. To find out more about my art or express interest in a piece, please reach out through my contact page. To stay up to date on any upcoming shows, please sign up for my email list.
